What is Operation Christmas Child?
Samaritan's Purse is a Christian international relief organization that was founded over 40 years ago to aid the world's poor, sick, and suffering.  Their emergency relief programs provide desperately needed assistance to victims of natural disaster, war, disease, and famine.  For over 15 years, Samaritan's Purse has run the Operation Christmas Child program which has delivered millions of shoeboxes filled with toys, personal hygiene items, school supplies, and other items not readily available to less fortunate children around the globe.  What started out as a small campaign to help homeless children in Romania has expanded into one of the largest relief programs of its kind.

How It Works
Pick the gender and age range for the child you want to shop for. Use a shoebox or a similar sized box and go shopping for items you think a child who has nothing would like: toothbrush, toothpaste, pencils, sharpeners, crayons, notebooks, yo-yo, stickers, hair clips, hair brush, baseball, inflatable beach ball, slinky, Rubik's cube, PJs (rolled up really small), socks, hat, sunglasses.  Be creative -- it's amazing how much you can fit in a shoebox. Please include at least one item a child can immediately embrace such as a stuffed toy, doll, ball or toy truck. Most importantly, pray for the child who will receive your gift!

Track Your Shoebox
You can download a barcode to include on your shoebox and you will receive an email telling you where in the world it was delivered!
Since 1993, more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoebox gifts from Operation Christmas Child.
